EFT - Quick Version

Monday, December 15th, 2008

eft_logoEFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique - it heals depression, anxiety, addictions, phobias, panic attacks and even fear of public speaking.  This technique works very well for me and millions of other people worlwide. garycraigofficeI will reveal to you a shortened version of EFT by demonstrating how to use it, then I will say when to use it and at the end we will do EFT together. That’s right I will guide you.

Gary Craig is the founder of EFT, his website is  www.emofree.com. He brought the idea from acupuncture and made it simple and safe - no needles just gentle tapping with fingers - that makes EFT portable and useful ‘just in time’.

Let’s say I have a problem with ___anger___  ( and I really do :) ). To use a quick version of EFT tap on special points that you see on the picture below. Tap several times like tapping on the table, use tips of index and middle fingers, you could even knock like on the door but it would be to painful.

While tapping keep thinking about your problem and repeat this phrase: “even thou I have this ___anger___ I deeply and completely accept myself”. Repeat this phrase for each point. That’s it, now you know the core of EFT, the rest is just fine tunig which I will post in other articles later. Now let’s be serious: does it work at all?  For such a simple technique it works enormously good. I’ve been using EFT for over a year now. I’ve estimated that I would pay a thousand dollars for knowing EFT and this is exactly what you will be charged at the end of this article.

When can we use EFT?

  • Just before an important event like na exam or a meeting - “even thou I am nervous I deeply and completely accept myself”.
  • Does it ever happen to you that there are just two weeks to complete your project that takes a month and you have nothing yet? One week still nothing. Take it easy man - tap and say “even thou I have this procrastinating guilt …” or ”even thou I have this frustration …”
  • You can use EFT when you are stuck in a traffic jam and steaming because you are late for a meeting - instead of looking at your watch, pressing the horn and tapping on the steering wheel please tap on the EFT points and say: “even thou I am late …”
  • and if you feel unhappy with your website try this: “even thou my website is not as good as weoverstep.com is …”

What EFT does? It is a distraction for sure, when you tap your brain says: hello? come in, it’s open, you also detach yourself from the problem. What if you forget some of the tapping points? Just skip them, EFT is flexible, you can change the sequence or even tap a bit on the left side and then on the right and it will still work fine.

OK, now is the time to try EFT together. What is your major, horrible emotional issue: fear, anger, sadness, depression? Do you feel it? Prepare some tissues if you want to cry, sorry for being so brutal. We will say together a magic formula - not now but in a moment - “even thou I have ___this challenge___ I deeply and completely accept myself”. Keep thinking about your problem,  look at the picture, now let’s tap multiple times while saying the magic formula for each point.

Excellent, thank you. That was brilliant. EFT is a quick tapping technique to release emotional blockages, tension, traumas and unnecessary pain, a tool to cope with stress or improve any area of life. I want you to try EFT at least once when a negative emotion strikes you. Do you remember what Brian Tracy said: ”We can go no further in our evolution as human beings than we are at this moment except by discarding our negative emotions”. Now with just a little bit of tapping you can push the evolution out of the orbit.

Unleash the Power Within - Firewalk

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

Would you like to know how to walk on fire? :)
In this article I am going to tell you how to do that.
Unleash the Power Within is the name of a seminar that I have attended recently. It was in London and there were eight thousand of people from all countries in Europe. We all did a firewalk. Yes a real, barefoot walk on glowing, hot coals!… I liked it so much that I went three times :)
The seminar was led by Anthony Robbins. He is a top motivational speaker. In the first part I will provide some background about the
seminar, say about the content and about Tony Robbins. Then I will say what we did to unleash our potential and based on that I will tell you how to do a firewalk! Let’s begin:

1. Overview

The Unleash the Power Within seminar is very famous in personal development world. It is about raising the standards.

  • Content
We’ve spent three and a half days from early morning till late night learning about leadership skills, how to instantly put ourselves into a peak state. The seminar was packed with exercises and was extremely entertaining. It was like a concert with a lot of rhythmic music, clapping and jumping, and there were strobe lights, pumping base. … But also there were quiet moments when we were visualizing. … In fact all emotions were included: we were laughing, crying, we were scared, courageous, we experienced euphoria and calmness. For many people that was the best weekend ever.
  • Who is Tony Robbins?
Anthony Robbins is a great, charismatic speaker. He says that people can make any vision, dream, or desire a reality.

    2. What we did to unleash the power within us
There are three things: physiology, focus and language:

  • Physiology
Physiology is about the movements. If you want to be in a peak state you must act like it. Examples of those movements are: pound your chest, raise your arms, hit a fist into your hand. Make sounds like sounds swish! boom! foo! yes! etc… It can’t be like this: slow movement and “phew it didn’t work”, it must be exaggerated move with enthusiastic “SWISH!”.
  • Focus
Tony is saying “where focus goes energy flows”. Questions are the best for directing focus. Instead of asking yourself “why me?” ask “what’s good about this?” If your answer is nothing! Then ask “what could be good?”
  • Language
Instead of saying: “oh no! I will never manage with that, I’m not good enough” say “Yes! I can do it! Let me handle that”.

    3. How to do a firewalk
Those three elements: physiology, focus and language enable us to do a firewalk. We have to be in a peak state. To use physiology make a move, keep head straight, and walk forward with confidence. Do not focus on your feet being burned but see yourself on the other side celebrating. Before a firewalk say “Yes! I am the best!” While walking keep saying “cool moss”.

Putting all together: make a move, say YES!, step up, focus on the other side and keep saying cool moss, cool moss … and celebrate!

    Conclusion:
Unleash the Power Within seminar is a spectacular show. It is emotional, entertaining, it conveys wisdom. Tony Robbins teaches motivation in an outstanding way. Whenever you are stuck with fear use three elements: physiology, focus and language. Now you know how to put yourself into a peak state and you know how to walk on fire.
