Special Olympics
Today I went to a local leisure centre to get information about a swimming pool and gym. I surprisingly found out that a special olympics were held there. I don’t know if they were just regional olympics or preliminary to the world olympics. I said wow what a luck, additionally admission was free. I watched various swimming competitions for an hour and then went watch some runners. Nearly all spectators were just friends and families of contestants so there was no crowd. This was a first of three days, I will go tomorrow too.
You get a different perspective while you watch those impaired people. Some of them were struggling, some of them laughing, some behaved like children, some were really fast, some slow – but those were the bravest and got the biggest applause. I don’t know why they are timed at all, it should not apply to those olympics.
I contemplated if advanced being outside this world look at us “normal” people the same as we observe those challenched people?
