Raw Vegan Food Questions – part 2

Is being raw dangerous? Being raw is not frightening now after living it for a while, in fact it is frightening not to be raw. Raw food contains everything you need. Cooked food contains only remainings of undamaged proteins, fats and vitamins, and virtually no enzymes for digestion. Cooked food is denaturated and the more you cook the more you destroy vital elements. If you do not eat raw then you cannot live up to your full potential!

Is raw only for geeks? Raw veganism seemed to be a very cautious and meticulous way of eating requiring special care while combining nutrients. That’s what I thought before. My first weeks of switching to raw were like trying out an unknown ice, is it thin or thick enough to walk on? It turned out to be a very solid ground. Eating raw  is simple and easy way of eating, it is flexible, fruits and vegs are available nearly everywhere.

What it most convincing factor? Example is everything. As you may noticed from the previous post it is important to have a strong, reliable example, to find someone who did that transition. Raw food online community is growing.

Why narrowing your choices? For normal people veganism seem very restrictive, they say “so you can’t eat this and this”. Eating raw seems even more restrictive and selective. Well, some people eat frogs, snails, dogs, rats, horses… do you feel deprived? I don’t think so, you have your own comfort zone and do not realize that the are unlimited choices within plant food. Once you stop eating what you are eating now you find food you never seen before, even if it has always been there.
