Why Vegan
I switched to vegan in February 2007. Before I used to be on a fairly normal diet, however low meat. I didn’t like meat much but I ate it to keep “healthy” (oh irony) especially after the gym and I didn’t see anything bad with dairy. Compassion for animal wasn’t a reason for conversion almost at all. I switched mainly because I realized that veganism is possible and that it gives mental clarity and enhances spiritual skills. I’ve heard about people called vegan in my childhood but I never got any information about it. Everyone wouldn’t even consider it possible nor healthy. This idea is outside of human awareness. After discovering Steve Pavlina’s site and reading his article http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2006/09/why-vegan I switched overnight. I just did it and never touch any animal shit at all. I felt a bit angry because I could switch much earlier, I realized that I didn’t need any of animal crap at all, not even for bodybuilding. I felt anger also towards society, why veganism is so rare, why masses are not switching now in the age of information, why an intelligent person would eat that awfull stuff? Some of the leaders like Tony Robbins are vegans but they do not say it publicly or directly enough. I’ve been vegan for two years now and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. After a year of being vegan I switched to a highly raw food – again because of Steve Pavlina. But this is another story.
Veganism is quite simple and there is no much info needed, there are just few safety rules: eat plenty and variety and take vitamin B12. That’s it. For those for whom veganism seem compelling I recommend a 30 day trial, you don’t even have to worry about B12 during the first month. You can fine tune everything later. If you need extra motivation be sure to read Vegan Poems.

I agree. I am so sad because of all those years I could have been vegan, I was not, even though I knew better.
